Start with the bike, not a capacity ranking

LG Energy Solution lists e-bikes within its light electric vehicle applications. That supports reviewing its cylindrical cells for this market; it does not identify the cell inside any particular bicycle. [1]

For a new pack, send the target voltage window, motor and controller demand, available enclosure dimensions, required range and charging time. A useful cell shortlist begins with those constraints rather than the largest capacity number in a catalog.

Compare usable energy under the intended load

Nominal watt-hours are a starting point. Compare voltage behavior, temperature rise and delivered energy at representative continuous and peak loads, within the selected cell's published limits. Series and parallel choices also affect pack size, current sharing, connections and protection requirements.

Our catalog includes LG 18650-MJ1 and LG 21700-M52V as model-specific references, not interchangeable recommendations. Ask for the current document revision and validate the proposed configuration before choosing either.

Review the battery and electrical system together

UL Solutions distinguishes battery evaluation under UL 2271 from the wider e-bike electrical-system scope of UL 2849. A cell report alone is not a certification of the finished bicycle. [2]

Bring the charger, BMS, wiring, connectors, enclosure and thermal design into the same review. Determine the applicable destination-market requirements with your qualification team. This article does not assert that a catalog model or a customer pack holds a specific approval.

Prepare a useful B2B inquiry

Include the preferred model, annual volume, sample quantity, pack architecture, destination and delivery schedule. State whether the project is at concept, prototype or qualified-production stage. BK Energy can discuss sourcing and available model documents; the pack manufacturer remains responsible for integration and validation.
